How Would You Like to Buy a $2,000 Gold Bar Along With Your Current Costco Haul?
That is correct; Costco offers a wide variety of products in addition to food items, office supplies, and toilet paper, and the corporation is very successful in doing so.
But according to the chief financial officer of Costco, Richard Galanti, a 24-karat 1 oz. Gold Bar PAMP Suisse Lady Fortuna Veriscan was classified as sold out on the website of the retailer this week. Mr. Galanti says the bars often sell out within hours of being put on the website of Costco.
Beginning in September, the wholesale retailer started selling gold online. On Friday, gold bars weighing one ounce each were being sold for $2,069.99, and each Costco membership could only purchase a maximum of two bars overall. The two characteristics used to describe the gold on Costco’s website are “in a sealed black assay card” and “individually stamped with a unique serial number.”
During Costco’s results call on Thursday, Mr. Galanti told experts that the company sold gold bars worth more than $100 million of value last quarter.
