We’ve all been there.

You’re in a conversation, laughing along, and suddenly you catch the faintest shift in someone’s expression. Maybe an eye roll. Maybe a sigh. Or worse, that awkward silence.

Cue the existential dread: Am I being annoying?

If it makes you feel any better, you’re not alone. Studies show that:

  • 52% of people admit to being annoyed by their neighbors.
  • 35% are annoyed by them every single month.

Now, we’re not here to talk about your neighbors (or whether you’re the one mowing the lawn at 6 a.m.). Instead, we’re diving into something far more universal: how to stop being “that person.”

You know, the one who hijacks every conversation, constantly interrupts, or chews gum like it’s an Olympic event. We’ve all got quirks that might seem charming to us but drive others up the wall.

So, let’s break it down: How can we be less annoying while still staying true to ourselves?

Why Self-Awareness Is Your Best Friend

The first step to being less annoying is knowing thyself.
